Vernon Kia Game Day – Vipers Take On Spruce Kings In Fred Page Cup Rematch

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to get back in the win column as they head up north to face the Spruce Kings in a rematch of the Fred Page Cup Finals from last year.

The Vipers (12-9-1) had a good showing last weekend in Trail despite the fact they were on the wrong side of both games.  They out shot the Smoke Eaters both nights.  This is the 16th road game of the season for the Vipers our of their first 23.  They are 8-6-1 away from the friendly confines.  Connor Marritt and Matt Kowalski come into the night tied for the team lead in points with 18.

The Spruce Kings (8-11-2-2) come into the game riding a 3 game losing streak after a tough road trip through the mainland division.  PG has a three headed monster atop their team in scoring with Nick Poisson, Chong Min Lee and Corey Cunningham sitting in those spots.  Jett Alexander has carried the load in goal for the club getting into 21 of the first 23 games either in a starting or relief role.  The Sprucies are 5-5-2-1 at home this season.

You can catch the action starting at 6:45 on 107.5 Beach Radio, Vernon Matters and HockeyTV.
