After the Buzzer – David Makes 39 saves for 3rd Shutout As Vipers Blank Backs

Salmon Arm, BC:  Isaac Tremblay and Carson McGinley supplied the offense and it was all the Vipers would need as Ethan David turned aside all 39 shots he faced as the Vipers shutout the Salmon Arm Silverbacks by a 2-0 score.

"This was a huge team win in a building that's difficult to get wins," says Assistant Coach of the Vipers Colton Sparrow.  "Our penalty kill was great and David was excellent.  These were two very important points to get."

Isaac Tremblay got the scoring started late in the first period with his 16th goal of the season.  It turned into his fourth game winning goal of the season which leads the team.

Carson McGinley added some insurance, midway through the second period after a puck was turned over and he broke away.  He'd snap one past the glove of Eli Pulver to make it 2-0.

"It was such a great feeling scoring my first goal and helping the team out," says McGinley.  "It was a great team win and I'm really excited that this is only the beginning of my contributions to the team as we climb the standings."

The other two major stories were the Vipers penalty kill, which went 4 for 4 against a very good Salmon Arm powerplay and the play of Ethan David.

The RIT commit has thrived in the hostile environment of the Shaw Centre.  In his last two starts, he has 80 saves on 80 shots.

Eli Pulver had 20 saves on 22 shots.

The Vipers have won back to back games and four of their last five games.

The road trip continues Saturday night when they head to Trail to take on the Smoke Eaters.
