After the Buzzer – Elliott Snipes Shootout Winner in Powell River

Powell River, BC:  No lead was safe Friday night in Powell River.  Lee Parks had a four point night, Hank Cleaves pitched in with a three point night and Connor Elliott had the shootout winner as the Vernon Vipers survived for a 6-5 win against the Kings.

Parks got the scoring started early in the first period moments after a powerplay expired.  He would get a late goal in the third period while assisting on a Cleaves and Facchinelli goal.  It was his first 4-point game of his career.

Hank Cleaves has been red hot and kept that going with a goal and two assists.  The Dartmouth commit now has points in 4 straight games (3G and 3A).

Julian Facchinelli scored a pretty powerplay goal of the rush.  It snapped a 10-game goalless streak.

Reagan Milburn also registered a multi point game with a goal and an assist.  It’s his second straight multi point game.

Ethan David was very good in goal stopping 34 of 39.  His best of the night came in the shootout robbing Alex Sandhu.

On the Powell River side, three different Kings had multi-point efforts (Ringor, Lucarelli, McNarland).

The Kings erased deficits on four different occasions including the equalizer in the final minute of regulation time.

Powell River outshot the Vipers 6-1 in overtime.

Kyle Metson made 21 saves in the shootout loss.

The Vipers will head to Nanaimo to take on the Clippers on Saturday night.
