After the Buzzer – Milburn Strikes for Two, But Vipers Fall in OT

Salmon Arm, BC:  Reagan Milburn scored two goals and Ryan Shostak registered a pair of assists, but the Vipers failed to record their first win of the preseason as they fell 4-3 in overtime at the Shaw Centre.

The Silverbacks jumped on the Vipers early in the game and it was Brandon Santa Juana doing the bulk of the damage scoring two goals in a 16 second window.  The first was a powerplay and the second was unassisted.  The Vipers led the period in shots and were rewarded with their first goal as Reagan Milburn deflected home a shot from Desmond Johnson.

The Vipers had a ton of looks on the man advantage tonight, and it took a while to get going.  That was until Reagan Milburn ripped home his second goal of the night from the right circle evening the game up at 2 after 2.

It took 7 seconds for the Vipers to get their first lead of the night as Kjell Kjemhus poked home a loose puck in front of the Salmon Arm goal.  Simon Tassy evened the game at 3 with his second goal of the preseason on a powerplay 11 minutes through the third.

For the second straight game the Vipers would try their hand at overtime and for the second straight game it was the opposition coming out with the extra point as Owen Desilets was set up for the game winning goal.

The Vipers will next head to West Kelowna for a date with the Warriors on Friday night at 7pm at Royal LePage Place.
