After the Buzzer – Vipers Complete Weekend Sweep With Win Over Spruce Kings

Vernon, BC:  The powerplay struck twice from Luke Pakulak and Seiya Tanaka-Campbell to power the Vernon Vipers past the Prince George Spruce Kings 2-1 on Saturday night.

Luke Pakulak, who now has 3 powerplay goals in his last 3 games, evened the game up at 1 with his 14th of the season.  The Bentley commit has 3 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 games.  He would also set up the game winner in the 3rd period.

Seiya Tanaka-Campbell has found a flare for dramatics with his second game winner of the season on home ice.  He finished off a great passing play for his 12th goal of the season.

Roan Clarke, facing off against Prince George for the second time in 8 days, was great throughout.  He was named the games second star with 22 saves.  He's surrendered just 5 goals against in his last 3 starts.

For the third straight game, the Vipers special teams was the difference maker.  The powerplay was 2 for 4.  In their last three wins, the Vipers are 5 for 9, while their penalty kill is 9 for it's last 9.

Austin Fraser had the lone goal for Prince George.  It was his 1st since January 14th.

Jordan Fairlie has lost his last four starts, but was very good in this one.  He made 23 saves on 25 shots.

With the victory, the Vipers have moved into 6th place in the Interior Conference, just one point behind PG for 5th.
