West Kelowna, BC: Ryan Shostak had the lone goal on a powerplay and Kobe Grant stopped 30 of 33 as the Vipers fell by a 4-1 score against the West Kelowna Warriors.
The Warriors struck early as an errant pass deflected off Elan Bar-lev Wise and into the back of the net just 10 seconds into the game. The Vipers rebounded nicely and evened the game up at one thanks to a 5 on 3 powerplay goal. The goal came minutes after the penalty kill squashed a 5 on 3 for the Tribe.
West Kelowna added two more after the Vipers missed opportunities of their own. Felix Trudeau and Deegan Mofford scored 5 minutes apart to make it a 3-1 game after 2.
The game tightened up in the final frame. The Vipers pulled Grant with 2 minutes remaining in the hopes of cutting the deficit, but a save from Johnny Derrick and a second goal from Felix Trudeau gave the home side a 4-1 win.
The back half of the home and home goes Saturday night at 6pm at KTP.
