After the Buzzer – Vipers Head into Christmas Break on Winning Note

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers had a powerplay goal from Max Borovinskiy and the game winner from Ryan Shostak in the third period as they downed the Prince George Spruce Kings 2-1.

It started out slowly in the first period as the Vipers were outshot 11-3.  The lone goal came from John Herrington to give PG the 1-0 lead after 1.

Special Teams took the flow out of the second period and the play seemed to get chippy.  The period featured a scrap between Luke Pakulak and Nick Rheaume which was a solid back and forth tilt.  The Vipers then had multiple good looks on a powerplay which saw Aaron Trotter make a number of big saves on Cam MacDonald.  Max Borovinskiy sniped his first BCHL goal against his former club to even the game at 1 after 2.

Ethan David was sharp in the third turning aside all 10 shots he faced.  He would finish the night with 27 saves on 28 shots.  Ryan Shostak scored the game winner midway thru as he centered a puck that bounced in off a Spruce King.  The Vipers killed off consecutive penalties then stifled the PG offense to get the victory.

The Vipers are back in action on New Years Day when they host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
