After the Buzzer – Vipers Offense Explodes For 9 in Route of Warriors

Vernon, BC:  The Vipers offense hit their stride on Monday night as they rattled off 9 goals to propel them to their 4th straight victory, downing West Kelowna 9-0.

The Vipers were looking to build on momentum from the previous game and pounced on the Warriors early and often.  Seth Bafaro got the scoring starting with a point shot at the 7 minute mark.  A few minutes later, Griffen Barr banged home a loose puck to make it 2-0.  Reagan Milburn would rifle home a one timer on powerplay and the Vipers carried a 3-0 lead into the dressing room after 1 period.

The pressure continued in the second as Jack Glen jumped on his own rebound for his 2nd goal to make it 4-0.  The Warriors would replaced Austin Madge with Johnny Derrick, but the Vipers kept up the attack.  Griffen Barr scored his second of the game to make it 5-0 just shy of the 9 minute mark.  A little over a minute later Logan Lorenz was set up by Cam MacDonald making it 6-0.  Nick Remissong added to the lead later on making it 7-0 after 2.

Remissong and Glen would each add their second goals of the night in the third making the final 9-0.  James Porter Jr. turned away 27 shots for his second straight shutout and 6th win of the pod season.

The Vipers return to action on Wednesday night when they play the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at 7:30pm.
