GAME DAY PREVIEW: VERNON VIPERS VS. PENTICTON VEES

The Vernon Vipers wrap up a short homestand tonight as they host the Penticton Vees in a key Interior Conference matchup. The Vipers (12-22-6) are looking to bounce back after a 6-4 loss to Blackfalds last night, while the Vees (30-7-4) come in looking to snap a three-game winless streak following a tough 4-3 home loss to Trail.

Despite the loss, Vernon saw an immediate impact from newcomer Ryan Watt, who made his presence felt with a goal and an assist in his debut. Charlie Kresl and Tyson Zimmer also had multi-point performances, showing offensive spark that the Vipers will need again tonight.

Penticton, meanwhile, peppered Trail with 52 shots last night but could only find the back of the net three times, with Conyr Hellyer leading the charge with a pair of goals. The Vees will be looking to turn those chances into results as they try to get back in the win column.

This will be the fifth of six meetings between the two teams this season. The Vipers took the last matchup in dramatic fashion, earning a 3-2 overtime win last Friday. They’ll look to build off that success and defend home ice once again.

Puck drop is set for 6:00 PM at Kal Tire Place.
