Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the hiring of Lukas Lomicky as Assistant Coach.
"Lukas is a very talented, driven young coach," says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee. "He has years of experience coaching, especially in the last couple in the BCHL which will be a great benefit to our organization and players. Lukas has the ability to handle and exceed in a lot of different roles which is so important in junior hockey."
Lukas began his coaching career with HC Sparta Praha U18 in 2012-13 as an assistant coach. The Czechia native transitioned to North America in 2017-18 as an assistant in Revelstoke before ultimately assuming the Head Coaching Role in 2019-2020.
"I am pleased to be joining the Vernon Vipers organization." says Lomicky. "Vernon has been and continues to be one of the premier organiztations in the BCHL. I'm thankful to Jason McKee, John and Tom Glen for the opportunity. I am thrilled to be a part of Jason's staff and have the chance to work with and learn from such a skilled and experienced group. I look forward to continuing the winning traditions and help bring a championship back to the Vipers organization and the City of Vernon."
Lomicky has spent the last two season as an associate coach with the Prince George Spruce Kings.
