Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce defenceman Lukas McCloskey has committed to Army-West Point.
“All of us in the Vipers organization are very happy for Lukas,” says Coach of the Vipers Colton Sparrow. “He’s a very honest, kind and hard working individual. West Point is getting a great, steady defender and an even better person.”
McCloskey, the Irvine, California product has suited up for 100 regular season games and 20 playoff games over the last two seasons with Vernon and Wenatchee. He had a career high in goals and points.
“I’m very grateful to fulfill this lifelong dream of playing Division 1 college hockey,” says McCloskey. “I’m proud to be a part of one of the best universities in the U.S.”
The Army Black Knights men’s hockey team is a NCAA Division 1 program. They are members of the AHA conference and play out of the Tate Rink in West Point, New York.
