 Vernon Vipers forward Michael McNicholas has been named BCHL Player of the Week ending Mar. 23, the league announced Monday.

McNicholas helped the Vipers take down the number-one seed in the Interior Division, the Penticton Vees, in game seven of the division finals. He was named first star of game seven as he assisted on the Vipers second goal of the game, which started Vernon's third-period comeback, and then scored the overtime winner 2:06 into the extra frame to give his team the series win. McNicholas also had a goal and two assists in the Vipers' dramatic 3-2 game-five victory.

The 20-year-old native of Manhattan Beach, Calif. had three goals and five assists for eight points in five games. He had multiple points in three of the five games.
