Four regional representatives, as well as the host Vernon Vipers, will compete for the RBC Cup at Kal Tire Place from May 10-18, 2014.

It is the second time Vernon will play host to Canada’s National Junior A Championship; it won the national title on home ice in 1990, beating New Westminster 6-5 in overtime in one of the most thrilling finals in the event’s 43-year history.

Vernon has won a record six national championships (1990, 1991, 1996, 1999, 2009, 2010).

This year’s edition of the Vipers reached the city’s 18th B.C. Hockey League final since 1971, falling in four games to the Coquitlam Express, who will represent the BCHL at the Western Canada Cup.

The three regional championships begin in the next five days, with the Western Canada Cup (West), opening tomorrow, the Dudley Hewitt Cup (Central) starting Tuesday, and the Fred Page Cup (East) kicking off Wednesday.
