Vernon Kia Game Day! – Vipers Host Wild on Teddy Bear Toss Night

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to build upon a solid showing last night when they host the Wenatchee Wild on the annual Teddy Bear Toss Night.

The Vipers (16-12-1-1) come into the game following an 8-3 victory over the Merritt Centennials last night.  Matt Kowalski led the way with 3 goals and 2 assists.  JoJo Tanaka-Campbell and Dawson Holt each pitched in with 3 point nights.  The Vipers powerplay was 2 for 6 on the night.  Reilly Herbst stopped 27 of 30 for his 12th win of the year.

The Wild (16-12-3-1) have won two straight hockey games including a mid week matchup with the Penticton Vees with a 4-3 decision.  Leading the way offensively is Nick Cafarelli who has 13 goals and 17 assists.  Captain of the Wild Brian Adams has 15 goals to lead them in that category.  In goal, Wenatchee has ridden Daniel Chenard.  The third year netminder is in his first season with the Wild after 2 in Chilliwack that saw him win a National Championship 2 years ago.  The 20 year old from Waterloo Ontario has 11 of his teams 16 wins.  The Wild are 3rd in the league in powerplay goals scored with 35.

This is the third meeting of the season and the first visit by Wenatchee.

Its the annual Teddy Bear Toss Night.  Bring a new or gently used stuffed animal.  Puck drop is 6pm
