Vernon Kia Game Day – Vipers Look To Even Things Up in Salmon Arm

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to end a 3 game slide and end 2019 on a positive note as they take the short trip north to Salmon Arm to battle the Silverbacks.

The Vipers (19-15-1-1) come in following a disappointing 5-2 loss a night ago.  Ben Helgeson scored his 7th goal of the season while Dawson Holt pitched in his 13th of the year.   The Vipers powerplay went 0 for 4 and the penalty kill went 3 of 5 surrendering two powerplay goals against.  The Vipers were narrowly out shot by a 29-28 margin.  The Vipers now sit 4 points behind Salmon Arm and still 2 points behind Wenatchee.  The Vipers have been a very good road team this season doing something that not many have done and thats win at the Shaw Centre.  They’ll look to get back to the “road” mentality that has seen them have success away from Vernon.

The Silverbacks (21-14-1-1) have now put 2 wins back to back since dropping 9 straight.  Lucas Breault has been a lightning rod since joining the group having 5 goals and 4 assists in just 6 games.  He had 2 goals and 1 assist last night.  Noah Wakeford had a two point effort as well.  Home ice has been a safe haven for Salmon Arm with a 14-5 record.

This is the 4th of 6 meetings between these two teams.

You can catch all the action starting at 2:45 with the pregame show on 107.5 Beach Radio, Vernon Matters and HockeyTV.
