Vernon Kia Game Day – Vipers Take On Capitals

Victoria, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look continue whats been a fairly successful road trip thus far as they make the trek to Duncan to take on the Cowichan Valley Capitals for the final time this season.

The Vipers (11-7-0) come into the game following a 5-2 win in Victoria last night.  The Vipers had goals from five different sources and their powerplay struck twice to pace them to the victory.  Reilly Herbst was solid in goal stopping 25 of 27.  Matt Kowalski leads the Vipers in points, powerplay goals and game winning goals.

The Capitals (11-8-1-1) have won one game in their last six including a heart breaker last night that saw the Powell River Kings score two goals late in regulation.  Luc Wilson leads the way offensively with 10 goals and 14 assists.  Zach Borgiel has been an absolute workhorse in goal for the Caps as he leads the league in minutes played.

The Caps took the first meeting in Vernon back in September.
