Vernon Kia Game Day! – Vipers Visit Vees

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers put a 3 game win streak on the line when they travel to face division rivals the Penticton Vees.

The Vipers (6-6-0) have hit their stride now with 4 straight good efforts and 3 of those resulting in wins.  They’ve outscored the opposition 12-6 over the 3 game set.  Most recently they put up a season high 44 shots in a 3-2 win over Merritt on Wednesday.  Newly acquired Dawson Holt scored the game winner in the final minute of regulation.  Matt Kowalski tallied 3 assists in the effort and Reilly Herbst improved to 3-0 on the season stopping 29 of 31.

The Vees (11-2-0) have dropped 2 straight games after winning 11 straight to start the season.  The schedule has been road heavy for the Vees with just 1 true home game in the first 13 games.  The other two games were showcase games.  The Vees are led offensively by Philadelphia Flyers 1st round pick Jay O’Brien who has 8 goals and 14 assists.

This is the second matchup of seven between the clubs with the Vees winning the first matchup in a 1-0 thriller at the Showcase.
