Vernon Vipers Acquire Forward Davids Livsics from Langley

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce that they have acquired 2005-born forward Davids Livsics from the Langley Rivermen in exchange for 2007-born forward Finn Kallay and a Player Development Fee.

“As we continue to close the gap on the start of the regular season, adding a player like Davids to our group—a veteran presence who can contribute on the powerplay and boost our scoring depth—was too good to pass up,” said Vipers Head Coach and General Manager Matt Cooke. “Ryan coached him last year and provided valuable insight on the player and, more importantly, the person.”

A native of Riga, Latvia, Livsics brings both international and junior experience to Vernon. Last season, he split time between Finland and the BCHL. With RoKi U20, he collected 4 goals and 11 assists in 21 games, before joining Langley where he added 10 goals and 7 assists over 20 appearances.

Livsics also represented Latvia at the World Junior Championship, where he was teammates with current Vipers defenceman Emils Skeltins.

The Vernon Vipers are excited to welcome Davids and his family to the organization. The club would also like to thank Finn for his time in Vernon and wish him all the best moving forward.

The Vipers wrap up their preseason schedule tomorrow night when they host the Trail Smoke Eaters at Kal Tire Place North. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM. Tickets are just $7, available at the Vipers Office, the box office on game day, or at the door starting at 5:00 PM.
