Vipers Bench Boss Resigns

The Vernon Vipers would like to announce that General Manager and Head Coach Jason Williamson has stepped down from his position due to personal reasons.

Williamson was set to enter his 4th year as the bench boss and 8th season overall.  Last season he guided the team to a conference title and a semi final appearance at the RBC Cup.

Vernon Vipers President and Owner Duncan Wray respects the decision. “Jason has decided he needs some time away from the game to get his affairs in order and I respect that.  He has been great for our hockey club and will be missed however we must move forward”

The club will immediately begin the search for Williamson’s replacement in the mean time Kevin Kraus has been named interim Head Coach while Eric Godard will increase his role as an assistant coach.

The Vipers will play a final pair of exhibition games this weekend with Prince George visiting Friday (7pm) and the return match-up in Prince George on Saturday.

The regular season home opener for Vernon is September 27th vs West Kelowna.
