The Vernon Vipers make their first of three visits to the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena defeated Merritt 3-0 in the first game of a home & home series last night in Vernon. This is the second game of seven meetings between the Vipers & Centennials. Since the 2003-04 regular season Vernon is 24-9-2-5 in Merritt. The Vipers have won back to back games and four of their last five. Tonight is the final road game for the month of October where the Vipers will finish October with four home games. Vernon has one win in their last four road games. Since the 2002-03 regular season Vernon is 59-18-3-8 vs. Merritt. Vernon sits 3rd in the Division one point up on West Kelowna, one point back of Salmon Arm and seven back of Division leading Penticton.

The Merritt Centennials are coming off a 3-0 loss in Vernon Friday, are playing their third game in as many nights. The Centennials will play three of their next four games at home went 2-1 on home ice last season vs Vernon. Merritt sits 5th in the Interior Division are four points up on Trail and two points back of West Kelowna & three points back of Vernon.
