Vipers deal Mick to Merritt

The Vernon Vipers have sent forward Logan Mick to the Merritt Centennials to completes the future considerations in a previous deal for defenceman Dylan Chanter last fall.

Mick, 17, brings 102 B.C. Hockey League regular-season games experience to the Centennials, along with 16 playoff games and four games at the Royal Bank Cup.

He missed the Vipers’ semifinal RBC game versus the Yorkton Terriers with the flu. The hard-hitting Mick rung up 11 goals and 23 points, along with 63 penalty minutes with Vernon.

"It's a tough one," said Vipers' head coach/GM Jason Williamson. "He's a local with ties to the community, but it's a business sometimes. He was an energy player and he's got a great career head of him. One more year and then he's off to university."

Mick is currently committed to the NCAA Quinnipiac University Bobcats for the 2015-16 season.

His father, Troy, was a member of the Merritt Warriors in the 1984-85 season
