Vipers finish road trip in Surrey

The Vernon Vipers make their first and only visit of the regular season to the South Surrey Arena are coming off a 6-3 loss in Cowichan last night. This is the third and final game of a three game road trip where the Vipers are 0-2. Today is the first of two meetings between these two teams. Surrey will play in Vernon February 23rd. Since the 2003-04 regular season Vernon is 17-6-0-0 vs. Surrey have lost five of their last six are 4-6 in their last ten games. The Vipers are 3-6 away from home this season. The Vipers sit 4th in the Interior Division are three points up on Trail and five points back of West Kelowna.

Colton McCarthy (12-4-16) leads the the team in goals with twelve, while Odeen Tufto (7-14-21) leads the team in points with twenty.

Lets take a look at the Surrey Eagles:

The Surrey Eagles are coming off a 3-2 loss to the visiting Salmon Arm Silverbacks Friday, have lost seven straight. Today is the second game of a current six game home stand. The Eagles have lost three of their last four home games are 3-7 on home ice. Since the 2003-04 regular season Surrey is 3-9-0-0 at home vs the Vipers. The Eagles come into this afternoon’s game with just four wins are 1-9 in their last ten games. Surrey sits last in the League & Mainland Division are four points back of Prince George. The Eagles have just four players back from last years team that went 0-2 vs Vernon last season.

John Wesley (9-8-17) leads the team lead in goals with nine while Ty Westgard (4-15-19) leads the team lead in scoring with nineteen points.
