Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers look to make it two wins in a row and wrap up the weekend on a winning note as they make the short trek to Salmon Arm.
The Vipers (1-4) took down the Silverbacks last night by a 5-2 score. Cam MacDonald and 2 goals and 1 assist while Ethan Mercer, Jeremy Rainville and JoJo Tanaka-Campbell all had multi-point nights. Roan Clarke made 23 saves in the win.
Special Teams was crucial last night as the Vipers scored 3 of their 5 while up a man. Not to be outdone the PK had some timely kills including a big one in the third period.
The Silverbacks (1-4) will hope some home cooking helps them back into the win column. Nathan Morgan had a strong debut with a goal and an assist. The powerplay was a bright spot for the Backs as they put up both of their goals while on the PP.
It was a tough night statistically for Riley Kohonick in goal, but played strong making a number of big saves to keep his team in it.
