Vipers Make Roster Moves

The Vernon Vipers have traded 19 year old Forward Nic Rasovic to the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.  In return the Vipers will receive future considerations.

Rasovic recorded 1 assist in 5 games this season.  The veteran of 101 regular season games will be joining his 3rd team after spending time with the Coquitlam Express in his first season.

The Snakes have also moved goaltender Jarrod Schamerhorn to the Merritt Centennials in exchange for future considerations. Schamerhorn was one of two twenty year old goaltenders that the Vipers had on the roster coming out of training camp.  He played 41 games last season for the Vipers and appeared in another 4 this year.

In corresponding roster moves Vernon has added former Penticton Vee goaltender Brendan Barry.  The 17 year old(97) product of Kelowna is entering his 2nd full season in the BCHL after playing 14 games last year.  Barry is committed to Clarkson in the NCAA.  As a member of the Okanagan Rockets in 14-15 Barry backstopped his team to an appearance at the Telus Cup National Midget Championship.

Vernon has also added 98 born forward Zack Andrusiak to the team.  The 5’11 180 pound forward was a late cut of the Tri City Americans of the WHL after spending last season with the North Okanagan Knights of the KIJHL.

The roster now sits at 22 with 4 of those players being 20 years old which is two under the league maximum.
The Vipers would like to wish Nic and Jarrod the best of luck and welcome Brendan and Zack to the Hockey Club.
