Vipers Open Season With A 5-1 Win

SALMON ARM, B.C.  SEPTEMBER 8th, 2017

The Vernon Vipers got 2 goals from Jesse Lansdell and cruised to a 5-1 win over the rival Silverbacks at the Shaw Centre. Jagger Williamson, Jack Judson and Alex Swetlikoff also contributed offensively in the victory.

Williamson would get the scoring started inside the first four on a knuckler that dipped on Bo Didur. Lansdell would get one to cap off a solid first period. Lansdell added another midway thru the 2nd period after a great chance from Finn Evans. In the 3rd, the Vipers would get contributions from the rookies as Jack Judson and Alex Swetlikoff chimed in. Justin Wilson deflected home a point shot to make it 5-1, but the Vipers were able to steer home the final minutes to get their first victory of the year.

The penalty kills were perfect for both sides tonight.  Anthony Yamnitsky was great in his first outing as a Viper stopping 20 of 21 Silverback shots.
