After the Buzzer – Vipers Fall in a Shootout

Vernon, BC:  It was defensive matchup between the Vipers and Warriors as the two teams battle it out in a low scoring affair.  Reagan Milburn scored the only goal and James Porter Jr. stopped 38 of 39 as the Vipers fell 2-1 in the skills competition.

There wasn’t a whole lot to report in the opening 40 minutes.  Each team had 21 shots and both teams kept the chances to a minimum.  Tyler Carpendale had the best Viper chance in the first period and Tyson Jugnauth had the best look for West Kelowna.

There was a bit of offense in the final period as Reagan Milburn tipped home a centering pass from Griffen Barr to make it 1-0.  That lead was short lived as Carter Wilkie had three whacks at a puck before finally tying the game up at 2.

Nothing solved in overtime and really nothing solved in the shootout until Zach Brooks tallied the game winner giving the Warriors the extra point.

The Vipers are back in action on Tuesday night when they face the Silverbacks at 7:30pm.
