After the Buzzer – Vipers Blank Wild 2-0

Vernon, BC:  JoJo Tanaka-Campbell and Zack Tonelli had goals, while Roan Clarke stopped all 27 shots he faced for his first BCHL shutout as the Vipers downed the Wenatchee Wild 2-0.

The Vipers struck on their first shot of the game as JoJo Tanaka-Campbell ripped a low shot from the left circle to make it 1-0.  Penalties controlled half of the period as each team took multiple minors.  Each powerplay looked good on their first attempt, but later advantages struggled against really good penalty kills.

Each team had some good looks in the second period, but both goalies were strong.

In the third, the Wild pushed the pace, but the Vipers did a nice job of keeping them to the outside.  Zack Tonelli then brought the crowd to their feet with a phenomenal individual effort to make the game 2-0.  The Wild pulled the goalie with about three minutes left, but couldn’t solve Clarke.

The Vipers will hit the road to take on the Wild Thursday night in Wenatchee.
