After the Buzzer – Vipers Comeback Falls Short in Penticton

Penticton, BC:  Isaac Tremblay scored 2 goals and Colin Reay made 34 saves, but it wasn’t enough as the Vipers fell 4-2 in Penticton on Friday night.

The Granby, QC product scored 18th and 19th goals of the season.  With those tallies, he now has 3 goals in his last two games.

“Outside of 8 minutes of that game I really liked our group,”  says Assistant Coach of the Vipers Colton Sparrow.  “That’s what happens in that rink, you let your guard down and you pay.  We’ll need to bounce back tomorrow night at home.”

The Vipers had some good looks at different points of the hockey game, but two segments cost them when Penticton was able to score twice in 17 seconds, then again twice in 23 seconds later in the period.

Colin Reay had 34 saves on 38 shots.

Vernon only had one powerplay and failed to score on it.  The PK killed off 2 of 3 Penticton powerplays.

James Fisher led the way offensively with 2 assists.  Four different Vees had goals, Conyr Hellyer, Anselmo Rego, Billy Renfrew and Thomas Pichette.

Andrew Ness made 25 saves on 27 shots.

The Vipers will return home to face Salmon Arm on Saturday night.
