After the Buzzer – Vipers Down By Backs

Photo by Chris Fowler of Pure Life Photography

Salmon Arm, BC:  Luke Pakulak scored his fourth of the season and Roan Clarke stopped 24 shots as the Vipers fell to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 4-1.

Despite outshooting Salmon Arm in the first period, the Vipers found themselves behind 2-0.  Nathan Mackie and Daniel Panetta had the Backs goals.

Lots of penalties filled the second period as the Vipers had to kill off 5 minor penalties and 3 different 5 on 3 sequences.  Zak Anderson had an even strength goal on a 3 on 2 before Noah Serdachny scored on a 5 on 3.  The Vipers were a goal post away from getting on the board, but went into the second intermission trailing 4-0.

The tempo picked up for the Vipers in the third and Luke Pakulak sniped his fourth goal of the season with a rocket from the left circle.  The Vipers had some chances after, but couldn’t solve Owen Say the rest of the way.

The Vipers will now host the Merritt Centennials on Friday night at 7pm.
