After the Buzzer – Vipers Fall Short, 4-2 in Cranbrook

Cranbrook, BC:  Lee Parks and Isaac Tremblay had goals, while Roan Clarke made 30 saves, but the comeback would fall just short as the Vipers dropped a 4-2 decision to the Cranbrook Bucks.

Parks, who scored his team leading 15th of the season, drove the net hard and scored just 77 seconds into the game.  It was nearly the same spot he scored from in Trail a night earlier.

Isaac Tremblay, who had a highlight reel goal a night ago, scored just six minutes into the 3rd period to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Roan Clarke was at his busiest in the first two periods and gave his team a chance to win including a number of saves with traffic in front of his goal.

The Bucks had goals from four different sources.  Bauer Morrissey, Luke Pfoh, Jarrod Smith and Donovan Frias had the Cranbrook tallies.

Smith’s goal in the second period would stand up as the game winner.

Nathan Airey wasn’t as busy as his Viper counterpart, but he made a couple of key saves including a breakaway stop on Isaac Tremblay when the game was 3-2.  The University of Minnesota commit finished the night with 18 saves on 20 shots.

Neither team had much to work with on the powerplay, both teams went 0 for 1.

The Vipers will return home to host the West Kelowna Warriors on Saturday night.
