Barr Commits To Brown

Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce that Griffen Barr has committed to Brown University.

“Griffen has come in as a young player and has matured immensely as a player in his 3 years in Vernon,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee. “He is such an important piece in our lineup every single night. We are extremely excited and proud for Griffen and his family on the commitment to Brown University.”

The third year Viper has suited up in 77 games tallying 10 goals and 22 assists. Former teammates, Ryan Shostak and Zack Tonelli also committed to Brown University. Another notable alumni to attend Brown was Aaron Volpatti.

"I'm very excited to be joining such an amazing school and hockey program," says Barr. "I believe that Brown is the best place that will provide me the opportunity to fulfill my goals. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has helped me get to this point. Thank you to my family, my friends, my teammates and the entire Vernon Vipers organization. I couldn't have done it without them all."

The Brown University Bears are a Division 1 program and are members of the ECAC. They play out of Providence, Rhode Island.
Please join us in congratulating Griffen and his family on this accomplishment.
