Nick Kent Commits to Meryhurst Univ.

Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce that defenceman Nick Kent has committed to Meryhurst University for the 2022-23 season.

"It's very rewarding to see all Nick's hard work and dedication pay off after such a hard year with the pandemic," says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee. "He's earned this opportunity and our staff looks forward to continuing to work with Nick next season before he makes the jump to college hockey."

Kent, from Ladera Ranch, California, finished his 2nd season with the Vipers. In 66 games he has 30 points. He has spent 4 seasons amassing 160 games played in the BCHL, OJHL, and USHL.

"I'm very excited to be joining such a great program. I'm looking forward to furthering my education and my hockey game at Meryhurst," says Kent. "I am also very thankful to the coaching staff and the entire organization of the Vernon Vipers for their support and guidance. I'm looking forward to a great season next year!"

Mercyhurst University is located in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Mercyhurst Lakers men's ice hockey team plays in the NCAA in the AHA conference and plays games out of the Mercyhurst Ice Center.

Nick will join fellow Viper alumni Carver Watson at Mercyhurst.

Please join us in congratulating Nick and his family on his commitment.
