After the Buzzer! – Vipers Close Out Season With 3rd Straight Win

Vernon, BC:  Not often does a junior hockey player get to close out a career on a winning note, but the Vernon Vipers were able to do that for their four 20 year olds as they downed the West Kelowna Warriors in the final game of the 2021 BCHL Pod Season.

It was a quick paced first period and the Vipers jumped out to an early shot advantage.  Tyler Carpendale opened the scoring on an unassisted effort snapping a shot low to the glove side of Zach Bennett making it 1-0.  A late powerplay netted the Vipers their second goal as a Carpendale shot hit the end boards and bounced right to Hunter Donohoe who put home his second goal making it 2-0 after 1.

Reagan Milburn increased the Viper lead with his 7th goal of the pod make it 3-0 after 2 periods.

In the third the Warriors mounted a comeback.  Tyler Cristall got the Warriors on the board making it 3-1.  Sam Duerr restored the three goal lead with his first BCHL goal.  Nick Ardanaz would make it 4-2 and late in the period Tyson Jugnauth scored to make it 4-3.  The Warriors had a late push with the goalie pulled, but couldn’t get the game equalized as the Vipers improved to 13 wins.

The Vipers would like to wish the outgoing 20 year olds, Tyler Carpendale, James Porter Jr., Seth Bafaro and Hunter Donohoe all the best in their futures and thank them for all their hard work this season!

See you next season!
