Pastro Commits to Nebraska-Omaha

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are proud to announce that Erik Pastro has committed to The University of Nebraska-Omaha.

“Erik worked very hard over the off season to set up for early success in the BCHL,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.  “Erik is a great example of taking your time through the development process and with his patience and commitment to becoming a better all around player.  He has set himself up for a tremendous opportunity to play college hockey.  It’s fantastic to see a local Vernon player come through the organization and be rewarded with a Division 1 scholarship.”

Pastro, the Vernon product, has had an exceptional start to his rookie campaign sitting second on the team in scoring with 13 goals and 15 assists.

“I am honoured and excited for the opportunity to play Division 1 hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha,” says Pastro.  “I would like to thank the entire Vipers organization as well as my family and coaches who have allowed me this opportunity.  I’m excited for what the future holds in Vernon and then Omaha.”

The University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks are an NCAA Division 1 program that plays out of the Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.

Please join us in congratulating Erik and his family on the accomplishment.
