Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the signing of 2006 born defenceman Cooper Cleaves for next season.
“Cooper is a very intelligent defenceman with great size,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee. “He was able to get valuable experience with us at the start of the season and we look forward to having him as a full time member of the Vipers.”
The Riverside, Connecticut product suited up for 5 games with the Vipers in the fall, scoring 1 goal in that span before returning for his final year at Brunswick. Since returning, Cleaves has 4 goals and 13 assists in 17 games and is a key part of their leadership group.
“After my experience this fall, committing to Vernon was a no-brainer for me,” says Cleaves. It’s a special place and is high end in every aspect of the organization. I can’t wait to get started.”
Much like his older brother Hank, Cooper is committed to Dartmouth. He is also on the NHL Central Scouting List for this year’s upcoming entry draft.
