Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers have announced a trade, sending 2005-born forward Erik Pastro to the Trail Smoke Eaters in exchange for 2005-born forward Evan Sundar.
“After many conversations with the Pastro family, the decision was mutually agreed that a fresh start was best for Erik moving forward,” said Vipers Head Coach and General Manager Matt Cooke. “We want to thank Erik for his contributions to the Vipers and wish him personal success this season.”
Sundar, from St. Albert, Alberta, brings significant junior experience to Vernon. He spent much of his career with Spruce Grove, both during their time in the AJHL and after their move to the BCHL. Last season with Trail, Sundar posted career highs with 11 goals and 24 assists in 46 games, helping the Smoke Eaters secure a third-place finish in the Interior Conference.
Hockey runs in the family for the Sundars, as Evan’s older brother Ethan appeared in 14 games with the Vipers during the 2022-23 season.
The Vernon Vipers would like to thank Erik for his time with the organization and wish him the best in Trail, while also extending a warm welcome to Evan and his family as they join the Vipers organization.
