Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce a trade with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, acquiring 2005-born defenseman Jordan Gudridge in exchange for forward Carson McGinley.
Head Coach Lukas Lomicky shared his excitement about the addition, highlighting Gudridge’s potential impact on the Vipers’ defensive unit:
“It is important that we adjust with the changing landscape in junior hockey,” said Lomicky. “After bringing in Sam Ward, we were still looking to acquire a right-handed defenseman, and Jordan was a good solution for our situation. He is an experienced, puck-moving defenseman and will help us solidify our back end moving forward.”
Gudridge, a native of Greenwood Village, Colorado, has recorded six points in 15 games with the Crusaders this season. Over the last two seasons, he has honed his skills with Madison of the USHL and Colorado of the NAHL, building a reputation as a reliable and skilled defenseman.
The young blueliner expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Vipers:
“I’m extremely excited to be a part of the Vipers organization,” said Gudridge. “I can’t wait to get to work and play in front of the fantastic fans again on Friday.”
The Vernon Vipers would also like to thank Carson McGinley for his contributions to the team and wish him all the best in Sherwood Park.
The Vipers will play their lone game of the week at home, facing off against the Okotoks Oilers at Kal Tire Place on Friday at 7 p.m.
