Jimmy Lambert moved west to play with the Vernon Vipers and his work so far has earned him the right to go north in 2017, when he’ll join the University of Alaska-Fairbanks on a hockey scholarship.
Lambert has produced five goals and seven assists for the Vipers in 18 games. It’s his first season of Junior A hockey after playing midget hockey in Saskatoon last season; he’ll play one more season before heading off to college.
Currently, Lambert is one of two BCHLers comitted to UAF along with Salmon Arm forward Ross Heidt. The Nanooks have seven BCHL alums on their roster this season, including former Vipers forwards Colton Sparrow and Marcus Basara.
The Nanooks play in the NCAA’s Div. I Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) against schools such as Bowling Green, Lake Superior State, Minnesota State and and Michigan Tech.
