Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Aim For 6 Straight in PG

Prince George, BC:  The Vipers look to put a bow on a perfect week tonight as they wrap up a weekend set with Prince George Spruce Kings.

The Vipers (12-14-3-3) come in following a tight 3-2 shootout win over the Spruce Kings.  Luke Pakulak and Matt Culling had regulation goals, while Zack Tonelli and Cam MacDonald had tallies in the shootout.  Roan Clarke was great in goal stopping 26 of 28 for the win.  Special teams were lopsided, but the PK was perfect killing off all 3 PG powerplays.  The Vipers are now 6-4 in their last 10 games.  The Vipers have trended in the right direction and last night was a prime example as they earned just their second win after trailing after the first period.  They’ve also improved to 7-2-3-3 in 1-goal games.

The Spruce Kings (19-9-2-4) were able to keep their streak alive by forcing OT last night.  They’re now unbeaten in regulation in 11 straight games.  Kolton Cousins and Rowan Miller had their goals.  Jordan Fairlie, who had never faced the Vipers before, made 18 saves on 20 shots.  John Herrington increased his team lead in points to 40 with an assist last night.  The Prince George powerplay went 0/3 in the loss.

The Vipers are 3-1-0-1 against the Spruce Kings so far this season.  Only one goal has been settled by more than a one goal margin.
