Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Close Out Pod Season Against Warriors

Vernon, BC:  It’s a bittersweet day as the 2021 BCHL Pod Season concludes today as the Vipers take on the West Kelowna Warriors for the final time.

The Vipers (12-5-1-1) come in following a Pod clinching victory on Friday night over Salmon Arm.  The Vipers trailed in the first period before Tyler Carpendale tied it late in the period.  Reagan Milburn scored the eventual game winner early in the second before Ryan Shostak sealed it with the empty net.  James Porter Jr. was unbelievable in goal stopping 37 of 38.  The team came in with the goal of winning the extremely tight Vernon pod and will exit as the top team.

The Warriors (8-9-1-1) come in having won 2 straight.  They’ll look to even their pod record at .500 with a win today.  Last night they won a wild one over Salmon Arm, 7-6 in a shootout.  The game saw both teams make goaltender changes.  Carter Wilkie had the only goal in the shootout.

It’s the end of the line for a number of 20 year olds today as they put a bow on fantastic junior careers.

You can catch the game starting at 3:45 on 107.5 Beach Radio and BCHL.TV.
