Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Kick Off Final Road Trip of Season in PG

Vernon, BC:  The Vipers conclude the road portion of their regular season this weekend and it kicks off against a team they’ve become acquainted with, the Prince George Spruce Kings.

Power Play:  42 for 168 – 25.0%

Last Game:  The Vipers won their second game of the weekend last Sunday when they defeated the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 3-2.  Luke Bibby, Julian Facchinelli and Luke Pakulak had the goals.  It was a chippy affair that saw a lot of penalties.  The Vipers won the special teams battle going 1 for 4 on the man advantage while killing off all four AV powerplays, including a lengthy 5 on 3 kill.  Ethan David made 25 saves on 27 shots for his 21st win of the season.

Record:  15-32-3-0

Power Play:  45 for 194 – 23.2%

Penalty Kill:  119 of 166 – 71.7%

Leading Scorer:  Kilian McGregor-Bennett (19G, 18A)

Last Game:  The Spruce Kings finished last weekend with a split at home against the Merritt Centennials.  After dropping the first game 6-3, PG bounced back with a 4-3 win in overtime.  It was a back and forth tilt that saw PG get a 2-0 lead, then fall behind 3-2, only to tie it then win in overtime.  Owen Goodbrand, JR Perdion, Scott Cousins and Kai Greaves scored the goals.  Charlie Zolin made 26 saves on 29 shots.  The Spruce King powerplay was 0 for 2, while their PK killed off 3 of 5 Merritt powerplays.
