After the Buzzer – Vipers Clinch Home Ice In First Round of Playoffs, Blank Spruce Kings 1-0.

Prince George, BC:  Adam Csabi scored his 20th goal of the season in the opening minute of the game and Ethan David locked it down from there with 34 saves for his fourth shutout of the season as the Vernon Vipers defeated Prince George 1-0.

“I give a lot of credit to PG tonight,” says Assistant Coach of the Vipers Colton Sparrow.  “They played a very good 60 minutes and probably deserved a better fate.  We hung around long enough and had an outstanding effort by our goaltender to secure the two points.”

The clean sheet from David is his fourth of the season, placing him in second place in the BCHL behind Will Ingemann of Penticton.  It’s his 12th career shutout.

Adam Csabi’s goal tied him for the team lead in game winning goals, with 5.  He shares that stat with Isaac Tremblay.

“Tonight was a big win for our group as we clinch home ice for the first round,” says Vipers goalie Ethan David.  “I was especially happy with the defensive effort in front of the net, getting bodies out of the way.  This was a playoff style win.”

The Vipers were 0 for 3 on the powerplay but their PK was excellent killing off all 5 PG powerplays.

Charlie Zolin made 15 saves on 16 shots.
