Vipers Make Roster Moves

Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers have announced they've made a number of transactions today.

First they acquired the playing rights to forward Ethan Rowland (02) from the Calgary Canucks and defenceman Anson McMaster (02) from the Winnipeg Freeze in exchange for future considerations.

"This was an opportunity to add experience and size to our lineup," says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee. "We expect both players to come in and make an impact with our group in a multitude of ways."

Rowland, a Calgary, AB product has suited up in 111 games in the WHL between the Red Deer Rebels and the Kamloops Blazers. This season with the Blazers he had one assist in 3 games. He is 5'9, 183lbs.

"I'm looking forward to joining the Vipers," says Rowland. "I hope to provide the team with speed, leadership and experience."

McMaster, from Siksika, AB has 129 games of experience between the Winnipeg Ice and Victoria Royals. He is 6'6 214 lbs.

"I'm very excited to be joining the team," says McMaster. "I've heard nothing but great things and I'm looking forward to bringing my style of game to the Vipers."

The Vipers hope to have both Ethan and Anson in the lineup this weekend.

The team also traded forward Ludovik Tardif and Revy Mack in a pair of separate deals.

Tardif has been traded to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in exchange for future considerations, while Revy Mack's playing rights have been moved to the Anchorage Wolverines in the NAHL for future considerations.

The Vipers would like to welcome Ethan and Anson to the organization and wish Ludovik and Revy the best of luck with their new teams.
