Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers had eight different players with multi point games and Roan Clarke stopped 24 of 25 shots as they rolled to a 9-1 win over the Merritt Centennials.
Merritt struck first on the first shot of the game as Drew Dornan converted on a chance just 64 seconds in. Luke Lavery evened the game up at 1 at the seven minute mark. Cam MacDonald gave the Vipers the lead with a good low shot making it 2-1 after 1.
Max Borovinskiy increased the Viper lead after a nice bit of hand eye to knock a puck out of midair nearly 7 minutes into the second period. The Viper penalty kill swarmed moments later, barely allowing Merritt to cross center and generating a great chance from Cam MacDonald. The Vipers then struck for 2 goals in 8 seconds, from Tonelli on a one timer and Reagan Milburn who was stopped on a chance, but banked in the rebound.
Nick Kent tallied a powerplay goal in the opening minute of the period with a seeing eye shot. Anthony Cliche in his first BCHL game scored his first BCHL goal after a good hard shot from the high slot. Luke Pakulak cued up the highlight reel with a great individual effort for his 5th goal of the season and Max Borovinskiy kept the reel running with a great goal converting on a chance from between his legs. The final buzzer finished with a 9-1 Vernon win.
The Vipers will next welcome the Trail Smoke Eaters on Wednesday night at 7pm.
