After the Buzzer – Vipers Drop Penalty Filled Decision

Prince George, BC:  Isaac Tremblay scored his first BCHL goal and Dylan Compton had a two assist night, but the penalties were the undoing as they fell 4-2 to the Spruce Kings.

The Spruce Kings jumped out to an early lead on powerplay as a John Herrington point shot rebounded off Ty Gagno and past Clarke.  90 seconds later and another PG powerplay later a Ben LeFranc shot went through a maze of bodies making it 2-0.  Just as a Vipers powerplay expired Luke Pakulak drove the net and took a great pass from Reagan Milburn to make it 2-1.

The parade to the penalty box was detrimental to the Vipers offensive flow.  The PK killed off 4 of 5 in the period, but 5 seconds after one PG powerplay expired, John Herrington scored his fourth of the season.  Late in the period Jake Schneider ripped a shot home on a powerplay making it 4-1.

Midway through the third, frustration boiled over as Griffen Barr squared off with Charlie Banquier.  The Vipers powerplay got the game within two after a brilliant rush from Dylan Compton spotted Isaac Tremblay who snapped home his first BCHL goal.  That was as close as the Vipers would get.

These two teams will square off tomorrow night at 7pm.
