After the Buzzer – Vipers Run Out of Gas in 6-2 Loss to Silverbacks

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers were playing their 4th game in 6 nights and their 12th game in 20 nights and that was evident in 6-2 loss to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

The Vipers opened the scoring 7 minutes into the first period as Logan Lorenz scored his 4th goal of the pod.  The Silverbacks responded less than a minute later to make it 1-1.  Drew Bennett gave the Backs the lead on a phenomenal individual effort making it 2-1 shorthanded.  Braden Fischer scored his first BCHL goal later in the period making it 3-1.  Cam Recchi finished the periods scoring with a powerplay marker in the final minute making it 4-1.

The Silverbacks increased their lead on a goal from Simon Tassy and Sullivan Mack making it 6-1.

The Vipers had a solid showing in the third period registering the only goal as Luke Pakulak scored after being set up by Nick Remissong and Ethan Mercer.

The Vipers will be back in action on Monday night at 7:30 when they take on the West Kelowna Warriors.
