Vipers Game Day – Vipers Battle Spruce Kings To Wrap Up Home and Home Set

Prince George, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to build on a positive result on Wednesday night as they take on the Prince George Spruce Kings at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

The Vipers (4-4-3-1) come in after ending a 6-game winless streak with a very consistent effort on Wednesday night over the Spruce Kings.  The Vipers had four different goal scorers, Matt Culling, Griffen Barr, Ryan Shostak and Zack Tonelli.  Roan Clarke stopped 24 of 27 for his 3rd win of the season.  In their last 10 games the Vipers have points in at least 8 of them.  They’ve played in some tight hockey games as well with 5 of their last 7 being one goal affairs.

The Spruce Kings (8-5-0-0) have dropped two consecutive games following the loss Wednesday night.  They rallied late with goals from Nick Rheaume and Rowan Miller, but couldn’t get it tied.  Their powerplay continued its hot stretch going 1 for 2.  Nick Rheaume leads the BCHL in scoring with 21 points, tied with Connor Eddy of Victoria.  The Spruce Kings have three players total in the top 6 in league scoring with John Herrington and Simon Labelle near the top.
