Vipers Game Day – Vipers Host Spruce Kings

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to get back in the win column tonight as they host the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The Vipers (21-17-4-3) come in following a 4-0 shutout loss to the Penticton Vees on Sunday.  Overall it was a successful week for the club as they took 4 out of 6 points with wins over Prince George and Trail.  The Vipers are 6-3-1 in their last 10 hockey games.

The Spruce Kings (25-11-3-8) come in winless in 4 games.  It was a busy week for the Spruce Kings, after the loss to Vernon on Family Day, they were downed in a shootout to West Kelowna, the took a regulation loss from Salmon Arm, then a shootout loss from the Backs to wrap up the weekend.  Prince George has played the most games in the Interior Conference with 47 games played and just 7 games remaining as they battle with West Kelowna for 3rd spot in the conference.  Spruce Kings goalie Aaron Trotter was named Second Star of the month for February with 6 wins, 1 shutout, a goals against average of 1.70 and a Save Percentage of .941.

This is the 8th meeting of the season with the Vipers holding a record of 5-1-1.

These two will meet for a final time next Friday in Prince George.
